One of the best parts about WordPress doesn’t come from the software. It comes from the vibrant WordPress Community to which we all contribute.
We love WordPress. We’ve been using it as our platform of choice since 2007. We’ve even written a post about why we use WordPress. We’re very lucky to have a large and diverse WordPress Community here in Southern California. We’re spread all the way from San Diego up to Los Angeles. We have access to three major WordCamps in driving range.
Our local meetup has five different monthly meetings (Pixel Jar organizes the developer night) and we have made friends and hired employees after meeting people at these events. Helping others succeed and learn is hugely rewarding and is a unique feature of the WordPress space.
We also learn a ton by being involved in the community. Some of the smartest people we know are involved with the open source project. Meeting and discussing new techniques and tools keeps us sharp for our own clients.
WordCamp Orange County
Brandon and Jeff were the first organizers of WordCamp Orange County. Starting in 2010 they were the lead organizers. Along with Robert Nienhuis of Nien Studios they built the local WordCamp into a solid annual event. In 2015 they passed on the reins of lead organizer, but they continue to serve on the organizing team.
Posts in WordPress Community
The posts in this section of the site are going to focus primarily on events. Whether it’s a recap or a link to a presentation that one of us has delivered, we attend a lot of WordPress events. Over the years we’ve also appeared on a number of podcasts and have been involved with some WordPress adjacent events like Website Weekend LA. Anything that’s talking about the communal aspects of what we do will be here.

A WordCamp is a one to two day (possibly more) conference that focuses on presentations about and around the use of WordPress. We’re proud to say that Pixel Jar set up the first WordCamp Orange County. And that we’ve been members of the organizing team every year since. While we’re not an official source of…Continue Reading →
In November of 2017, we attended the very first WordCamp Riverside. At the camp we had the opportunity to see Mikel Bruce’s talk on attracting and closing good deals. It was a great talk full of valuable ideas. One of which was a lead service called Clutch. We were happy to support the Riverside WordPress…Continue Reading →
